Haters Gonna Hate

I have learned a few things working in the outdoor industry. One of those things is that no matter how well you do something or how good you look on camera, you will still have people who don’t like what you’re doing. I am blessed to have the kind of following and popularity that I do in the outdoor industry. I love to produce videos, articles, podcasts, eBooks, and other digital media which help people and inspire them to achieve excellence in their outdoor pursuits. That is my goal. One of my passions is helping young hunters and shooters get started in firearms, archery, air guns and more with the right attitude and the best equipment possible.

I also have a fair amount of “haters” or people who are jealous of my success and seek to hurt my reputation and livelihood in the outdoor industry.  Recently, one individual called my local game warden after watching a few hunting videos I produced on YouTube claiming that hunting in one of my urban hunting spots was illegal, that I shot a buck that was under-sized for our antler restriction laws of 13” or greater, and that I was shooting over a public road. All of these things were false and I was found innocent on all counts upon investigation by the game warden.  This is not the first time something like this has happened. I, along with the co-hosts of our hunting show, am constantly under attack. Many of the comments that are made on sites like You Tube you will never see because I remove them before they get to the public. Mac and Prowler (Randy and Bill) have received hate mail and several threats over the years , long before I produced the content I do now. To be honest, I’m still getting used to it.

My response to all these haters? The best response here is no response except for this blog post. I don’t have anything to prove to those who don’t like me. I do the best I can with what I have.  I treat each day in this journey of life with gratitude and humility. I seek to produce ethical hunts and other outdoor adventures and to teach other outdoorsmen and women how to be successful in the outdoors, not for self edification. Haters are going to hate, no matter what I do. Regardless of what the haters say or try to do to me, I will continue the pursuit of excellence in the outdoors. I thank God for every day I have to live and every opportunity I have to share my passions with you in whatever way we connected. As always, thank you so much for watching, listening, and reading.
