Packing In Pink: Empowering Women

One of the things I strive to promote as an outdoor writer is getting families involved in outdoor sports such as target shooting. The number of women involved in the shooting sports has been on the rise and it’s encouraging to see companies specializing in empowering women to get involved in activities that may have once been reserved for men only. Kim Page started Packing in Pink (PIP) under the philosophy that “just because I shoot like a man doesn’t mean I have to look like one.”

Kim and I connected on a social media website one day and I have been a fan of hers ever since. Her passion for the shooting sports and getting women involved in them is empowering to say the least. With ear muffs, target sheets, range glasses, holsters, and other shooting accessories such as apparel, Packing in Pink is covering the spectrum of different products to empower women to enjoy the shooting sports with comfort and even some sex appeal! Their products are designed by and for women and, since pink is also the color for breast cancer awareness, PIP also makes a donation to breast cancer research with every product purchase. Most of their products are USA and Canadian made.

Aside from providing products to help women get involved in the shooting sports, Packing in Pink also has several programs to promote the shooting sports among women such as newsletters, contests, picture and story submissions and more. Packing in Pink practices what they preach. Kim and her team annually attend the MidwayUSA & NRA Bianchi Cup in Columbia, Missouri as a sponsor and participant in this awesome shooting event. Kim has also attended the Women Outdoors NRA Expo and other shows as an exhibitor.
