There are many rites of passage for kids. Catching your first bass on your own should be on the list of cool things for little boys. Jackson is on his way to first grade and is almost 6 years old. It just seems like yesterday I was hoping for a baby boy and imagining all of the cool things we would do together. Last Saturday, Jackson cast out his line on his own and reeled in a nice Largemouth Bass. This was one of my proudest moments. Once he realized what he had caught, he stayed fired up the whole rest of the evening and next day that he had caught his first bass. We also caught several bluegill and sunfish. To add to the list, Jackson has also caught mud cats all on his own. Memories like these are hard to beat!
